Gulab Jamun

Any festivity in India is incomplete without Gulab Jamuns. These are fluffy golden cardamom-scented doughnut holes soaked in a sweet rose syrup.

"Gulab" means rose and "Jamun" is an Indian berry that this dessert resembles in shape and color. The origin of this recipe, like so many others, is debatable, but it is said to have originated in Persia.
